Reasons I regret penning a song about my ex -Adekunle Gold
Adekunle Gold, a Nigerian musician, has said he regrets writing a song about a past girlfriend who broke his heart.
On the song “Damn Delilah” from his debut album “About 30,” he sang about a heartbreak he went through at the hands of a manipulative woman.
The singer posted the album cover on his X handle on Sunday, commemorating the album’s sixth anniversary, along with the message, “Happy 6 years Anniversary to my beautiful piece of Art.” [Hash tag] About30.”
Later, a fan reshared it with the comment, “Delilah will never forget this album [emoji for laughing].”
“She passed. Adekunle Gold retorted, “There are moments when I regret creating that record.
“Will you please tell us the whole story?” a curious fan asked the performer.
Adekunle Gold wrote, “You people [stress emoji]. I have told the story many times. Anyways, I was in a relationship with a girl that had a boyfriend (I didn’t know). I do not fall, but she plays with me. To cut a long story short, I received a threat call one Saturday morning from an unknown guy telling me to back off and never speak to his woman again. I called the hottie right away, and she blocked me everywhere. Lol. I became very distraught and created Damn Delilah.
